Sightseeing

Had a walk last Saturday in the north/west side of Brussels. At first went to a market which works at the weekends, something like "Kalvarijų turgus" back in Lithuania, found a Russian kiosk there so at last bought some proper food, their kitchen is quite similar to Baltic one. Only the first picture is from this market, I was told there that Muslim people doesn't like to be photographed. The actual sightseeing started at the flea market, from there took an elevator to get to the lower part of Brussels and went North-East direction. Trip ended up in Laeken (part of Brussels I live in). Despite the fact that Brussels is quite a dirty city it has some very beautiful parks where people play football, have picnics and chill out, too bad it's hard to show the vibe in a picture.
Would like to get my bike here, should be a very handy tool in this city. By the way, there's a concrete skate park down town and I would really like to try it out:)..

Erasmus in Belgium, Brussels

So, here comes a short summary. I'm in Brussels, got here last Tuesday, studying at Sint-Lucas school of architecture, live about 3,5 km from my school, I could take a tram to go there, but as long as I have a tiny budget and don't have any other physical activities- I walk, takes about 30min, not too long anyway.
Street I walk:

This weekend I've been to town named Aalst, not too far from Brussels. Quite a nice looking town but.. that's not the point about it. There was this carnival, actually a pretty wierd one. Don't know what's the story of it but looks like some kind of a Valentine's day's parody. There were so many participants, mostly men, that I didn't even wait till the end of the carnival, it was almost endless. Seemed like all of the Aalst's men would have dressed as women or something, each of them grabbed a couple of beers and went out to the street.
